Doug Mudd table.
Hi,
thx Smithy. The field maple I got from you is looking good. I have recently completed a little carving. Acouple of seasons and a repot, it's going to be a cracker.
Bob,
Chris always looks like that after having to put up with me for more that 2 hours.
Come to think of it, most people look like that or worse in around one hour.
Recently I posted the newly repotted blackthorn with one of Doug Mudd's fine table. Most thought it too light for the tree. I am hoping the same table will now look a litte better balanced with the new pot being a deal more refined.
I'll give it a try at The Dragon workshop in the morning.

Blackthorn repot. Day 2
Hi,
Spent this morning potting up 2 more trees.
A blackthorn into another John Pitt pot i bought in 2010
and after a long discussion and many suggestions I final decided on a pot for my box.
I also tried my Doug Mudd table with the newly potted blackthorn. I would appreciate your thoughts on the combination.

Fantastic tree and pot combos Jerry. Still think the table is far too light though mate. Do you have any trouble with after care repotting at this time of year.

Very nice blackthorns Jerry. Like them both...
Nice stand form Doug, but I agree with Ian, it's too light.

Hi Ian and Hans,
Thank you for your replies.
I wasn't worried repotting this time of year, until now...
I last repotted one of the blackthorns in late November 2009. I did give it good protection over the winter, in my unheated shed.
Both blackthorns are now in that shed for the winter.
Your experiances and thoughts are very welcome.
