Willow Clippings Empty Willow Clippings

Hello,

I took a few weeping willow clippings earlier this summer (end of May perhaps) and they've been sitting in a bucket of water. I can see that they now have a number of roots growing, and all of the clippings have grown small leaves.

What I'd like to know is when should I pot these plants? I can't leave them in the bucket or they'll freeze over in the winter, but I don't want to risk breaking off the roots if I move them too soon. When would be a good time to move them?

Now would be good.

Be sure to wire them into whatever pot you use. Wind moving the tops can tear off the fragile roots.
