Hi, i need your help to guide the stump to the right way.
and i also have a question. when i heal the cuts with the cut paste, the dead wood will damage the plant in the future?(should i put that question in another topic?)

You need to hollow out the chop site. Otherwise, the healing callus will form a large bump. The hollow doesn't need to be deep.

Dead wood in the form of jin or shari will tend to rot.

JIm, thanks, i was expecting your comment. you mean, do i have to dig up the hollow site so i can reach the live part of the plant? is that it? and then i put some cut paste?

What Jim means is, cut any large branch back, flush with the trunk. Your then left with a flat cut. Chisel out the flat cut so that it is curved inwards. then apply wound sealant.

The trunk has a lot of potential.

When styling the tree leave lots of branches as my experience with Crape Myrtle is they have a tendency to lose a branch here and there.
Some varieties like to make suckers also which must be continually removed.

Don't let them get root bound.

Thanks Rob, your comments are always welcome as jim and will are. I need to do it tomorow because i dig all the long to be with the trunk back to my house. So, i'll take a dremel to dig the rotten wood as well as cut as jim says..
i'll keep posting so i can realize the best way to see it flowering. Maybe in a few weeks or in Feb i can post the new leaves of it. i hope it won't die... are Crape Myrtle stronger?

Thats a nice piece of material you have. You should be able to make this into a nice little tree eventually.

You shouldn't have much trouble keeping it alive. They're very strong growers.

I don't think you will have rotten wood yet. Just cut the branch flush with the trunk and hollow it slightly as Will said.

How large is this one?
