This story isn't bonsai, but it is about trees which we love. Call it an obituary for a great giant which was standing before my ancestors came to this country. It should lie in rest where it has fallen for generations to marvel and mourn. It stood for centuries in life. Let it lie for centuries in death. A form of immortality. Rest in peace great giant of the Earth.

In watching the video link supplied, I suppose that answers the age old question - "If a tree falls in the forest does it make a sound." Yep!

the knights of the round table ! - they could have picked a factual period of time rather than a dubious tourist attraction to pay homage to a great twin trunk.

i'll write a new start to the article for them..........................

Along the Sierra Nevada's famed Trail of 100 Giants, the mammoth sequoia had stood sentry since a tiny egg hatched in a deep cold lake - as the new life burst forth, barely 4 feet long, she became the relentless hunter and guardian of Loch Ness.......... Very Happy

i think the tree should lay and a set of steps should go up and over for the walkers
