Here are some tree photos from todays show. Mark Cooper will probably put up some better quality pictures later, but these can wet your appetite.

Great pictures, thanks for posting.
What species is the second photo?
Looks just like a mature Scots pine.

Thanks. It's a beauty.
I also really like the first pine in the second batch of photos.

Great trees and thank you for posting these. What kind of container is the Yew planted in? Rock, Stoneware? Other?
Thanks,

Hello Todd. The driftwood Yew was in a stoneware pot. I thought it was a bit busy for all that deadwood. I like black backgrounds but they're a bloody nightmare to take pictures with. I went with no flash and then changed the brightness/contrast in photoshop but the scrolls are still bleached out. Rolling Eyes

Nice trees, but that hinoki cypress (best of show) is a stunner...I stopped at that one and just stared for quite a while. Very elegant.

Totally agree with Chris. The tree really is a cracker, it makes you stop and look at it.

Lots of other nice trees too, well done to all those who participated and the organisers. Looks like a great show.

Great show. Recognized some from Mark and Rita. I think the Hinoki Cypress is very elegant and well done. Not the easiest to do, so great work.

Hello Morton. They are indeed Mark and Ritta's trees and they won the best composition. In fact it was a toss up between both their displays. They certainly know their Onions.

The hinoki cypress is just great. This is the kind of tree that some people dislike because it is too easy to miss branchs. (they just dry out)
The small pyracantha in the yellow pot is also wonderfull.
