It evokes bonsai, almost like a viewing stone, or in this case millions of tiny viewing stones arranged by water..

I think its pretty cool myself and would have snapped a picture too if I had seen it.

Does it matter? Note the title for this section of the site.

I love the pictures. I'm now trying to establish the scale. They almost look as if they could be a shot from space . . . but then you notice the sand grains.

Can see patterns like this at all scales...either on the beach at your feet, or in the giant sand dunes of the Sahara, or the canyons of the American west. I'd guess this is the former...Beautiful either way, thanks for posting.
