Ocean Spray Empty Ocean Spray

Post  MrFancyPlants Thu Oct 13, 2011 9:41 pm

I have read the virtues of providing Pemphis acidula with a misting of ocean or salt water (as long as the leaves are not too young.) What other plants may benefit from this treatment.

I am guessing Casuarina could benefit since it is often found growing in beach environments. What about Ficus benjimina?

Thank you,
David

No, Ficus benjamina would NOT appreciate spraying with salt water. I think Pemphis is the only bonsai species that requires it. A few others may tolerate it, but that doesn't mean it is good for them. Why look for trouble? Rolling Eyes
