All I can say is that yes, it does look like a ficus. I am no expert on these, so cannot give an ID; also, the pictures are a bit blurred for detail that might help someone ID it.

I am pretty sure that is a Ficus Nitida. It is kind of hard to tell though with the pictures that were taken. If you can get a few clear shots from all the angels around the tree it would help tremendously with us answering your question on styling advice.

Good Luck.

This is a "Tiger Bark Ficus." Note the striping on the photo of the trunk. The Latin is Ficus retusa or Ficus microcapa. You can google these name for some ideas.

It will grow in a pot, but I suggest as large a pot as possible for training. From the blurred photo of the branching it appears they are all the same diameter. You need to select three or four side branches as well as an apex. Cut everything else off. Does it have rocks glued to the surface of the pot? Break them out with a screwdriver and fill the space with good potting soil. Give the tree as much light as possible. Mine get full sun, outdoors here in Florida except from Nov. to March when I put them in a greenhouse to protect from temps below about 50 F.

The correct botanical name for tiger bark fig is Ficus microcarpa. Right now it should be outdoors in full sun. Feed it houseplant food like Miracle-Gro every week or two. Watch closely for bugs, especially scale, which are little oval bumps.
Follow the advice of our other experts. Get those stones off.

This time of year, even in Pennsylvania, it could stay out 24/7 unless you worry about theft.

Aerial roots on a Ficus will cause the trunk to stop growing below where the roots attach resulting in reverse taper.
