Hello All,

I find myself contemplating a sage brush bonsai for purchase and I'm wondering as to its care and climate requirements as well as its suitability for Bonsai. Its Artemisia Tridentata. Now of course I'm in Upstate NY, even if I bring it in for the winter into my arid wood-stoved house in front of a south window.....is there even a prayer of keeping such a plant healthy up here? Or is this a really bad case of "zone envy" Its certainly not something I run across at the local nursery around here. I would be grateful if those with experience with this species would chime in here and let me know if I'm nuts. Bagpiper Basketball

My best and my thanks as always.

Go here http://www.artreview.com/photo/artemisia-tridentata?xg_source=activity
It is drought resistant, but can't tolerate shade, which is what you would have indoors.

Thanks Iris:

Something makes me think it just wont work in Upstate NY and I think its because its too humid, and too rainy. Although I was on another forum where a fellow had managed to grow them successfully in Oregon. But most others said theirs just died, wherever they were from. Died quickly too.
