juniper questions
Hey all,
I was at a club meeting and a demo on a large prostrata juniper by David Nguy last night. I got lucky and won the tree. Now I just have to wait and pot it.
My question is: On juniper branches both procumbens and prostrata (and maybe others) the interior branch just before the green foliage gets sharp brown needles. I have buds forming at these needles on most of my trees. When David wired the tree, I believe that he cleaned all these brown needles out first. Will junipers still bud on these "cleaned off branches", or will this stop the budding? Aesthetically it looks much better to clean them off.
Thanks,
Tona

Re: juniper questions
yes they will bud on the "cleaned off branches" and the fact that it is back-budding is a sign of good health.
lucky you!
