My 1st solo bonsai project ...

this is the 1st bonsai tree i worked on my self ... i baught this juniper at a local nurserey ... it was a bush in a 1gal pot .. since then i believe its started to look like a bonsai ... here are some pics of the tree ... any advice or comments are welcome ...

Nice first tree Mike.

My advice would be to go use your first pic as the front. They say that some good bonsai can look like the human figure, taking on a definitive human pose. If that's the case, you might not have too far to go

hey thanks guys ... so far the 1st pic is the front ,, it seems the tree wants to invite the viewer in ... im thinking the apex needs some wireing in the near future ,, just to open the apex up a little ... and of coarse the pot it is in is just a training pot ... after that one i may get a nice brown clay pot ...

I dunno. I think I'd rather see the branches and not cut them off. And I'd NEVER make such a pointy top!

The first pic seems like a good staring place, and just work on defining the branching and the needles.

You have done well! I agree with more definition rather than cutting off branches, but also might consider jin for that branch on the upper right.
