Maple root cuttings?
Hi folks, I've been reading this forum alot and just now registered. I have a question about a Japanese maple I have growing in my back yard. It's on a hill and there are alot of roots exposed above and just under the surface. My question is can you take root cuttings from these. I've been doing alot of research and can't find anything concrete for a tree (no pun intended).
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Maple root cuttings?
i havent managed too, despite trying several times,
i have even severed surface roots from a trident while still in the pot, so they are not even disturbed, but no buds have formed on the root that was cut. worth trying though if the roots are not needed by the plant or in the finished design
