I keep this stone in my office....this morning I was thinking of Keith and decided to share this composition. The stone is petrified wood collected in Rock City, Wyoming many years back....Keith crafted the dai from Paulownia in 2003.

Plateau Stone....remembering Keith Scott Platea10

"Say the hidden name",
the tortured soul begs.
"Say my true name, please".

[I'm just being gloomy Very Happy . In any light it's strong and unique stone].

Good day, Hung....

The stone, for me, evokes a feeling of both strength and barrenness...possibly even loneliness, along with a predominant feeling of peace and tranquility.

Best regards,
Tom

Hi Tom... I recall the nice thread (linked HERE) which you initiated on this stone in July 2009.

There was a brighter photo of the stone taken from a lower angle, then...
Plateau Stone....remembering Keith Scott Platea10

Your latest photo is better (higher angle and more subdued lighting) for appreciating the stone, but it seems a taken from further to the right. Have you decided on the new angle (right of facing the stone's center) as a better front?

Why do you like the color of this daiza, Yvonne? The daiza is original to Keith's work, so Tom rightly treasures it, but the color is so light that the burn marks from original shaping are still clearly seen.

Paulownia wood ages to become darker over time. Often it is stained & sealed to look smoked or pickled... or sealed-only to slow further oxidation, but more often it is exposed without sealing or staining. It is a rare wood in its resistance to cupping, even when not sealed.

It is the changing collours I like, even if it just burnmarks in the deeper corners ( I cant see that on my computer)...on the very pale parts, is is just like see-through....I like the stand are twotone......

Kind regards Yvonne....the shape is also perfect Smile
