Hey Michal, Good to see you enjoying your vacation.

The group planting has a nice airy feel to it. I like how you splayed the trunk and the one crossing trunk adds nice artisitc touch.
Maybe it is an Oriental Fan. Smile I'll be an American fan!

Thank You all for the replies.
I have made some changes on the composition. After styling for me the problem was also the crossing trunk's but biggest problem was with free space between right and centre trunk. Look what I do with this.
Samson Chong I also think You gave me the name of the composition " PAPER FAN "
Regards
Mike

Still looks good and added more negative space to the right
As for crossing trunk, it's not unnatural. Can look good too. BTW John Naka's second book has several with crossing trunks including those compositions based on Sumi-e art.

Looks better to me now, without the crossing trunk. I don't have a bias against crossing trunks in group plantings, in certain situations they can look very natural. I think the issue I had with this one was the very large angle/split ("slingshot") in the tree just left of center. If that was hidden or disguised in some way the crossing might have worked better, but as it was it very strongly attracted my eye.

I do now feel that there might be a bit too much negative space to the right of the main tree but maybe as the foliage pads develop that can be reduced.

Nice use of the material!

I really like this composition, and enjoy looking at it ! There is an "artistic" element to every tree in the group, and that, in my opinion should be maintained. I think I would classify this as a Literati/Bunjin grouping. Very nice !!
