Hey everyone, I have what I think is an infestation of witches broom (I don't know what the real name is for it?) in my hawthorns. Does anyone have suggestions for getting rid of it? The trees seem healthy otherwise.

Or some very similar kind of rust. You can cut away (and destroy) the branches with the fungal fruiting body on it. The alternating host is usually a juniper.

Thanks for the replies. That's why I couldn't find any real information searching witches broom. The compacted growth threw me off. I will get to cleaning it up. Thanks again.
