Juniper restyle Empty Juniper restyle

This Juniper of mine has been around a lot of shows the last being
"Best of British 2010",I have thought for the last couple of years that
the styling was a bit 5 minutes ago and it needed a re-think/restyle
unfortunatley the decision was made for me after the above show,
to be exact "old mother nature" decided in her infinite wisdom to turn
40% of the foliage insipid yellow for no rhyme nor reason PANIC!!!! affraid
as it turned out "old mother nature" in my opinion has done me a favour,
the tree is now bouncing back to health and hope you agree the restyle
more open and elegant.

Mother knows best! Very Happy
The tree looks much older and refined now. Alex, your dead wood carving is lovely. How many hours were spent carving?
Best,
Todd

hi,
does the design / taper of the tree allow any leeway to turn it slightly so the live vein is more visible? this I feel would break up the large lower expanse of white wood that is a bit 'over powering' and show the contrast between the living and the dead to far more effect. The new foliage clouds certainly give the tree more maturity and have moved it on from the juvenile image when it only had 3 distinct areas of equal size- nice image and great improvement, hats off 2 u -the pot could be a fraction smaller now too - something much darker, unglazed, 'rougher' maybe to complement the dead wood. = i'd be calling dan for a quote! Very Happy

Thanks Marcus for your comments, with the new restyling you are right the pot is too big!
but the tree was repotted 2010 after 5yrs and again an emergency repot this year as a process of
illimination when it was unwell I will look at it again in 3yrs time, with all due respect to Dan! my prefered
potters are Alan Harriman who may have one befoer he retires or Davey Jones (Walsall Ceramics).

I like the restyle except for one thing. I think the lack of a branch to go across the trunk line makes the tree flat. At least on picture.

And I forgot to mention that because there is no back foliage behind the trunk line, it adds further to the flatness of the tree.

I'm assuming, because of the whiteness of the deadwood, that the pic was taken using flash. If so, it would be interesting to see a pic taken without flash as I am sure the depth would return to the tree.

Hey Alex thanks for the pictures.

Which is your front? I really like the first new picture that you posted for the font. I like the curve of the trunk, the depthness of the tree, and that top jin is not pointing straight at me. But the tree looks amazing now.

Very nice... and a great new apex... I have always been a big fan of a great apex on a tree Very Happy . I always thought of it as it is the last thing you see as your eye follows the tree. A poor apex can sometimes detract from the whole image.. even a nice tree.
