A member of this site will probably recognize this green cloth, because they are using it for their scroll from my workshop at Bonsai in the Bluegrass....This scroll is going to Europe via USPS...
Writing is in a more legible Sousho style. Ichinen means determined purpose or one thought...The thing I like about the celery color with the small & faint Karakusa (arabesque) pattern in the cloth is lightening the mood of the phrase.

You know, calligraphy seems so spontaneous and natural and yet it needs a very precise way of thinking. Those are elements I try to incorporate in bonsai. Even though I have no idea what they say or mean, I can really appreciate the sublimity.

Thank you for posting them and please keep it up.

オライオン様へ

Thanks for the comment about the free flowing yet precise nature of bonsai.
I think the hardest calligraphy style to do really well is the Kaisho block print...but for Bonsai Display my Sensei says if you use a calligraphy scroll with the bonsai it looks best with the full cursive style (Sousho)...I think this is because it is more free flowing like you were saying and complements the bonsai...
