Hi Cosmos. Some interesting trees there, my friend. And an unusual and interesting setting, too!

Yes, St James Cavalier is a centre for creativity. It has a strong commitment to supporting the Maltese contemporary creative scene, including bonsai. It is a 16th Century fort, and the centre is home to a small theatre-in-the-round, an arthouse cinema, a chamber music room and several gallaries.

16th century fort! Wow... looks very contemporary from the inside.

Lovely trees... any chance to list their names along with pictures?

Hi thanks for your comments. Yes some are tropical but mostly they are mediterranean.

The first is my thyme, starting to open flowers. Today it is covered and full of purple flowers, attracting bees (we make good honey out of the nectar that these collect from thyme).

Thanks Will. I have been tending it for three years now. This year I came across the stone and I drilled a hole in it and repotted the thyme in it in January.

I intend to grow the tree more to the left making it cascade just that bit more so that the tree becomes of more volume relative to the stone, which right now, I think over-dominates the tree. What do you think?

The stone is perhaps a little on the large size but I didn't really notice. Your idea sounds good to me. You could also raise the tree slightly maybe?
