Re: Here's a few pots...
Thanks Sam!
I had a great time talking with you during your visit to my place. Maybe someday I will be able to make it up to your neck of the woods...
Cheers,
Rob

Martin,
Thanks for taking time to notice my pots. Quite a complement, coming from such a great potter like yourself!
Here are some pots that I sold last week at the Joy of Bonsai convention in Bunnell, Fl.
This is a very thin walled bowl about 6" across...
Here is one that I featured on my blog last week. A new texture technique...
A simple round in a copper green glaze...
Here is another glaze with quite a bit of copper...
Thanks for letting me share everyone

Hello Rob
.... must have missed this post
I like the first one (but not the speckled clay). Your cracking work is very fine and detailed !
My personal favourite one is the third. Very smooth .... nice matt and clean finish. The feet are matching perfectly.
Kind regards
Klaudia

Rob, Nice work. Those pots are exquisite...I still owe you something, but I was waiting for the right cloth to come along. Yours will be the first on this cloth. Hope you like the surprise.

Lovely pots Rob! I really like the yellow one, both the shape of the pot and the glaze. And the copper red is great.
I´m getting really inspired when I see your new shapes and glazes.
Keep it up

Good job Rob.
I like the copper red glaze. I know how hard that is to accomplish.
Can you reproduce the same results?
And the stretched ovals, nicely styled and nicely finished.
Thanks for sharing.

Paul

Hi Rob,
for me Your pots have very good balance of roughness of textures and the whole clean image.
Even when looking at unusuall red or yellow, the whole feeling is quiet and peaceful.
I have to try new glazes and recipes given even by potters from here.

Hi Jonathan,
Thanks for taking time to comment!
It would be great to see more of your beautiful work! If it is done in time I can display it in my booth at the State convention show in May.
Take care,
Rob

Greetings Peter-
I am guessing from your lover comment that you may have seen some of the other red pots from my blog?
Too funny, but yes, red conjures up the emotions...
I am humbled,
Rob

Hello friend,
I always look forward to your feedback. The copper glaze took a lot of research and testing to finally find one that worked. I am thinking that it comes down to my firing schedule, and a trick that I am using that may(or may not) be working.
As far as it being easily reproduced, I won't know until I give it more trials. Right now I am getting a good amount of variation from reds to plum and opalescence, so I need to see if the trick is worth repeating. Either way, I like the red, and I like the variation, so it is a win win.
Of course I will not use this on a commissioned pot yet until I get more tuned in to its nature.
But at least I'm having fun....

Tom,
Thanks for commenting. I really enjoy what you are doing in the zen quality of your finishes and muted color. As I am sure you understand, my current red glaze recipe works better on shohin than large forms. One must be careful not to have too much color that could overpower the tree. In all honesty I am not too sure this glaze won't do this, but I still wanted to give a try...
Take care,
Rob
