Re: Here's a few pots...
Usually I pick the side of the pot that has the most distinctive feature as the front. The first pot, I'd go with the big drip on the frony. For the blue one I don't see a whole lot of difference.
Pots look good though.

Thanks Rob!
I missed you this year at BSF. I know that you have been very busy with BCI, but I see this as a good thing. You are doing a lot to spread the word about this great organization. I really must join soon.
Take care,
Rob

CJ-
Thanks for taking time to chime in about this glaze. I was quite pleased when I unloaded it from my kiln.
It is VERY TRUE, but we potters need a bit of dumb luck from time to time. Such was the case with this one I am afraid

That blue/green pot is great Rob. What are the dimensions on that one?

Re: Here's a few pots...
I recently had a chance to work in a higher fire range with this next batch. Here is one, a lovely grey-green celadon glaze on a high fire grey stoneware...
The next time I am going to try this glaze on an all white grolleg body, perhaps in something round. I like the look of this glaze with the clay body, but it will give a totally different effect on a different form and clay.

Re: Here's a few pots...
That last glaze works well on a small tree, and hopefully will not overpower the composition with its strong color.
Finally, here is a pot with a glaze of black and green. The glaze is very sensitive to thickness, and it was tested before using on this pot.
At first I thought the black and green was too garish, but it is kind of growing on me...
Maybe I'm just nuts...
Thanks for your consideration,
Rob

The black/green is great! I have one similar that I created for oxidation and it also varies depending on the thicknees

Thanks Keith,
I like how this glaze looks on the grey body stoneware. Personally, I find it to be a better color combination than if it were a buff or warm brown clay body.

Klaudia,
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. This particular glaze is called Joe's Green. I am not sure exactly from where the black effect comes from, butI it is a pretty common reaction in many copper glazes. Perhaps it has something to do with the copper and the interaction with the fluxes???
Thanks,
Rob
