He who would true vala see

Post  fiona on Fri May 20, 2011 12:08 pm

Tony phoned me the other week re my poorly Elm. After getting past the initial problem of having misheard him and wondering why he was suggesting that I get my non-doing tree to pop a little blue pill, I worked out that he was advocating a new product called Valagro. From the makers of Maxicrop, this would appear to be a similar sort of liquid in that it also contains seaweed extract, but it is also boasting some other stuff.

Has anyone else come across/used this stuff? I can't imagine it will be a flop, but I'd be interested to know what it does that Maxicrop/other seaweed extract based feeds doesn't.

This is not quite correct Fiona. Maxicrop is just a part of the parent company 'Valagro.' I would imagine the product Tony is referring to is 'ONE.' This is available in liquid form and granular. This is my second year of using it and I am extremely pleased with the results. No silly sized leaves, just really healthy growth; colours also seem more vivid.

Comparing this along with several products from Bio bizz which again are giving wonderful results.

And as we write, the bottle of it I ordered but yesterday on t'internet has arrived. You're right, Mike, it is called One. Thanks for the positive feed(no pun intended)back. As I said, I can't imagine it would do any less well as Maxicrop but it was a case of whether it would be better. I'm off to study the ingredients lists of each now.

I just looked it up and would recommend that if anyone else is tempted to try it, go for the 1Kg water soluble version, so you aren't paying for water to be transported and get best value for money (whilst also gaining a warm green glow for being kinder to the planet). Shame on you, a person of the Scots persuasion no less, frittering the hard earned. ;-)

Kev, Kev, Kev. Surely you know that paying for things only happens in countries other than Scotland?
