Hi All Smile

I opened up my kiln today and there were a few things i was quite pleased with. I don't do many cascades over 10" / 26 cm tall but here is one that is 15.75 " / 39.5 cm tall.

I mixed a small batch of clay by hand to make some accents. I mixed 3 different types of clay and several large scoops of various metal oxides until completely uniform in colour. I also decided to make up a one off small amount of glaze for these accents.

This next one is made from the same batch of clay, but using two of our standard glazes.

Hi all Smile

We opened up the gas kiln yesterday and were met with a bit of disaster, most of the load had not reached temperature. We are trying to figure out what went wrong.
Two shelves were ok though, which is a bit odd.At least we have something from the firing so it wasn't a complete waste of time and gas !!!!

Here are a few shohin and accents that did reach temperature.

Hello Vic. I love the earthy tones to your glazes. Will you be selling them commercially?

Hi Will

Thanks Smile

Yes, we have been selling our pots for some time now, i think it was 1998 when Dad and sold our first pot commercially.

We sell through our web site.

Cheers

I like all the glazes, especially the first "simple" beige. I donĀ“t have such color in my "arsenal" pirat
Is that recipe some kind of Your secret? Or it is a commercial one?
