Here are some sites to check for information. Your location matters, so keep that in mind while you read. Joining a local bonsai club is the best thing to do if you really want to keep your new tree alive, and you plan on getting more. Good luck.

Scott: Try to find a local bonsai club for the best advice on maintaining and improving your Shimpaku juniper bonsai. A bonsai is never done. Because it is alive, it will always be evolving, so your purchase is just the start.
You can find good general advice on your Shimpaku at http://www.bonsai-bci.com/species/shimpaku.html
