Dawn Redwood fusion

Thanks for posting your fusion bonsai project. At the BCI/ABS Louisville convention DOug Philips gave a demo of his work on his trident maples. Since his web page is out of date it was interesting to see how his projects are coming along. I was impressed. So much so that I intend to try some with Bald Cypress, Premna and maybe Ficus microcarpa. I did take some photos and will post them when I get some time.

Bald Cypress are excellent material for fusion. Very similar in growth habits to Dawn Redwood. Ficus take a little longer to fuse and their thin bark takes longer to hide scars, however they can look spectacular. See the pics of Ficus fusion at my website.
I plan to fuse at least two more different species next spring.
