Re: First time collecting
I have read a few times (once on Harry Harringtons web site) that wild collected Junipers are notoriously difficult to get to survive for more than a few years, due to this fact I have never tried to lift one. I dont want to rain on the parade here and I really hope they ALL survive, they are excellent material, is it only one species of Juniper that resists the wild collection process and are some better able to cope with transplant? Id love to know!

Looks like you've come a long way from the days of having to purchase them from unscrupulous collectors

You actually remember that ? Wow. Yes if I ever purchase another yamadori it will be from Andy Smith. Wait , I just sent him an email purchasing a RMJ I like. Funny how things work.

John ,
Thats my favorite as well. It's not visable in the photo but theres a bunch of dead wood on that guy/girl. No berries yet so I don't know if its male or female. The second one is a lot nicer than the photo and it's small , about 20" so it will be fun.
