Weigelie "purpurea nana" - new gardenyamadori

Post  Pavel Slovák on Mon Apr 25, 2011 9:35 pm

Hi all
I want to introduce you to my new garden plant yamadori.
The plant I received a settlement from the owners Gardenkraft. It is the old mother plant. I think it's interesting and abnormal material. Very Happy

I love offbeat material! Can't wait to see how it develops.

Looks like all you have to do is merely keep pruning to its shape.

I'll have to Google it as I never heard of the species.

Rob . . . Here's how most people around here see it:

The leaves tend to be a bit large.

Pretty flowers. I'm sure Pavel will bring out the best in it.

Nice material and intriguing. Not much about it as a bonsai. When in flower, it looks that its leaves and branches may become out of proportion but you can opt to show it when without flowers and leaves and then enjoy it when in bloom.

the leaves will go smaller in time and the flowers are not over large

Nice find Pavel! Oddly enough, I recently aquired a small cutting of this same species to use as an accent in future.

Dear Pavel

This looks very nice !!!

About the beginning of this Weigelia i would like to ask You
a few questions , as i have one in my garden and want to make a bonsai of it .

The motherplant is old , as i see , when did You cut all the branches ?
When did You dig it out ? mean the season ?
Thank You for answering
Kind regards
Morea
