Small Chinese Elm
I've just been messing around with a new photography setup, so I thought i'd post this snap of a Chinese Elm I just took. I've had this for about 8 years, from bonsai nursery stock. It's a bit of an ugly duckling but I quite like it. It was at its best in terms of ramification a couple of years ago. Unfortunately I let it get away from me a bit last year, and I've lost some of the inner branches - will have to see what pops up this year in terms of adventitious buds, and maybe cut back hard to start rebuilding the lower branches at least. Time will tell.
For comparison, this was the tree soon after I bought it June 2002.
2003
Can't find a recent one of it in leaf or I'd show that too.
Hope it's of some interest anyway.
