cutting hard hibiscus

hello, i have recently bought a shohin hibiscus from hong kong. i am wondering if it possible to cut it back hard since the branches are too long. can this specie be treated the same as a ficus? thanx

Hibiscus can have hard cutting back but not the roots. It can't be treated like ficus. It must have direct full day sun, plenty of water and fed frequent with organic fertilizer.
