I like the pot. To me the feet are about the same height as te pot. If they were shorter, the pot would be great! Awesome tree, Karl!!

The pot is OK, I think it works, but I like Dorothy's virtual better.

Karl, your tree is magnificent and is so serpentine! I am "on the fence" with the pot. I appreciate working outside (artistic expression, etc) of the box, but I think the legs of the pot look more like a "stand". Then you have the tree sitting on another stand; sort of two stands, which is distracting.
The colors in the pot really support the tree. When I think snake, I think "hiding under rocks" - "sunning on rocks", etc. Perhaps a rock element in your planting could be considered. Honestly, this is one of the nicest larches I have ever seen! Great job styling!
Best,

I'd agree with that. I've been looking back and forward at the pics and in Dorothy's virtual the tree is far more prominent (striking even, which would be very appropriate for a cobra tree.)

The pot I have designed and made my wife. I'm aware of a mix of modern and tradition chosen by the design.
Dorothy, the feet are not as dominant as in real. If they were smaller, it would provide a problem to put the pot on a table, this larix is not small. These feet have a practical sense. Wink
I thank you for your comment.

I love the pot and the tree.

Can you snap a picture of the tree and pot only... without the stand. If you really have to put something under it, then try a thin burl slab.

Hello people, I've asked Erik if he makes a pot for my cobra. He has drawn me this draft of the new pot, I think it fits very well.cobra - new pot for Larix cobra Design10

This will be very interesting to see! Its hard to tell how it would look in real life. Im a bit of a "traditionalist" who likes to slightly bend the rules, but this new pot will give a more "cobra" feel to the tree. Just thinking of... How will it be to water?

Karl, its a distinctive tree that requires a distinctive pot. I like it very much - to me having the bottom legs a different color than the top sets it apart and makes it work - as Dorothy said -as a stand. Perhaps it needs to go on a plain black or white box. Very creative and very cool.

Make sure you devenomize the cobra before getting too close. Very Happy
