prairifire crabapple

I found a crabapple today for free!! it is a tree from the landscape nursery so has to be chopped to a stump...it is 1 inch across above the root flare..how tall should the main trunk be??? another project i need!!! thank you take care john

No more than 10 inches for a thin trunk like that.

JIM ,,thank you for the reply and height suggestion...i will have to let a bud grow to make a apex so you say the whold tree should be 10 inches after i grow a new apex??? thank you take care john
