Tiny, Sticky Drops on Pomegranate leaves
This is the pomegranate air-layer

Yesterday, I noticed that at the very tips of the leaves there is one tiny, clear, sticky drop just like morning dew. Every new emerging leaf has this little drop at the tip.
No sign of any insect.
Perhaps I should note that the mother tree had a lot of ants going up and down when I did the air-layer.
Do you have any idea what this could be?
The leaves are very tender and I think I cannot use any kind of chemicals....
Thank you!

Hello Alexandra. Be sure that if you have Ants on your trees, they are farming Aphids or some other sap sucking insect. Try some soapy water or old dish water. Aphids dont like this.

If there are no signs of insects, the tree is simply producing excess nectar.

Exactly so, Mrs. Iris.
The ants were present on the parent tree, but there is no sign of them on the cut air-layer.
So, this is excess nectar... And why is this happening, may I ask? Fortunately, the phenomenon is diminishing.

It's spring. Some plants just do that when their sap begins to flow.

Oh I see, Jim.
This is the first time that I encounter something like this...
Thank you.

I have seen scale produce a similar look. It was on a schefflera, but the leaves got shiny patches that were sticky, mostly after a rain and drying out.
