Red Osier Dogwood
Hello folks,
Below is my Red Osier Dogwood (Cornus stolanifera) growing in the front corner of my house. The base is just above 5 inches and it has an interesting movement in the trunk. I want to know if it is worth collecting for bonsai.
It is beautiful as a garden shrub especially in fall and winter. Let me know soon because the buds have started to swell.

Red Osier Dogwood
Hello Suburbia. I have seen dogwood used for bonsai but not often. Give it a go.

Thanks Will....
I couldn't find much online about this species of Dogwood as a bonsai, so I took your word for it. I collected it and luckily most of the fibrous root were towards the surface.
Later, I will post updated pictures once the tree is in leaf.

I agree ... go for it. Its trunk looks "perfect" for bonsai work!
