Hi Trantanhung

Your stone is very elgant, I like it.

I understand why you prefer it weath, it simply look better on the photo.

And this is because the stone has no natural patina. it can be made by you, but it takes a long time. I have a couple celected stones, I strike with my hands, close to every day. They are in their dais, in my home, close to me...when I have stroken them long enough (some years) will they have the decired patina.

Kind regards Yvonne

Hi Yvonne ,
Many thanks for your comments .
I often find and collect a stone have the natural patina ( example Photo 1 )
_ Photo 1 ( CUT STONE ) :

I am not the patience to create a new patina for the stone , and I used BABY OIL ( Johnson ) to make the stone more beautiful , but when needed , I can easily clean stone ( use baby oil example Photo 2 )
Finally , I still prefered a stone have the natural patina .
Sincerely ,
Hưng - Trần .

Hi Trantanhung

I absolutely prefer the first photo....
A complete oiled stone does not speak to me.
My patiense is also small,. I have fairly dry hands, so I do the patinamaking, with a little handcream on Smile my hands.
I do not touch the stone everyvere, but only from the top, and dawn.

Kind regards Yvonne

Hi Trantanhung

I really like both of your stones. The second shows beautiful colouring with its natural patina that is lost once oiled.

I am really interested to know more of your water polishing methods as I really like the way it hasnt altered the natural colours. I have a few stones collected from various places, some with a nice natural patina, others would benefit from some water polishing... when I want to admire I wet them in my fish tank Embarassed

Hi Yvonne ,
Hi Matta ,
Thanks for your last comments .
Depending on the environment in which we have found the stone : Rock may have a natural patina or natural patina has been destroyed ...
If the stone has good natural patina , we need to protect and nurture this natural patina ( used water to protect and nurture is the best if we are not professionals ) . And if we use theses chemicals do not suit the rock material ,
natural patina can be destroyed .
I usually put my beautiful stones in the shade and dry , and sometimes , i used to use BABY OIL to maintain the stone surface .
Sincerely ,
Hưng - Trần .

Hi Trantanhung

Thanks for sharing Smile

Kind regards Yvonne....handcream could be better, as it is not as rich as oil.

Hi Yvonne ,
You are attracted by the stones below ...???

_ Photo 3 :

What did your passion for them ...???
According to my opinion , the natural patina looking on stone surfaces have helped make you passionate about them ...
The formation of natural patina is extremely complex and very long period ( many centuries ... ) , how to form ,this is still many secrets yet to be explored
Best Regards ,
Hưng - Trần .

Hi Yvonne ,
I know we can not do a natural patina to the stone , we can just to preserve the natural patina is not destroyed .
My collection of stones often they have this natural patina , and i need to protect it from damage by covering the stone surface a thin layer of Baby Oil is enough . ( Baby Oil is an Oil bath for baby , so it will not destroy the natural patina on the stone surface . It is a certainty . )
Thanks for the insights that you share with me .
Sincerely .
Hưng - Trần .
