I wouldn't be too concerned with this fungus. The tiny blobs appear to be on the surface of the bark, and as bark decays and fals away, this will hapen. The mould in the second and third picture appears to be Mychorriza, which is beneficial to the tree and can spread up the trunk if conditions are good.

cheers Will, if the conditions are good i'm happy, i thought it was Mychorriza but wasn't completely sure because it's in an isolated position. i had a pine that had so much growing up the trunk it lifted the bark off and created an inverse taper. is there any way to stop it climbing too much?

The only time i have had real trouble with Mychorriza is when I've planted Pines in just Acadama. The beneficial fungus grew so much that it crept up the trunk, out the drainage holes and across the bench and became so thick in the soil that water couldn't penetrate. I had to keep pushing chopsticks deep into the soil to get water in. I don't know the best way of controlling this if it were to happen again.

turns out this wasn't any kind of fungus after all, it was a spiders nest! whilst cleaning stray mosses out of cracks in the bark i thought i should have a look, feel a bit bad about evicting them to be honest. i did move them to somewhere i thought they would like.
really looked like mychorriza, such a tight weave, spiders definately have pride in their work.
