Spider Mites
Hi all,
Today I checked over my seed house and found some small creatures on the bottom of my pots
They were visable to the eye when you look close and had six to eight legs and some were bigger than others.
They were different colours aswell some were small and red while others were sort of yellow.
As I checked further they was on all the trees on the floor of the seed house
Which i had seeled the bottom of Because I had a mite attack last year.
When it happend I had to get rid of my juniper cuttings and clean the seed house with soap and water.
They must have still survived.
So now I am going to chuck the seed house and keep everything on or under my bench
I got rid of a few things and squashed a few things lifted my cryptomerias out of the pots and see a big red one
I think they might be starting a big attack and im not sure what to do.
I have been reading up on them and im thinking of predetor mites can someone advise me please I will try to get a pic tomorrow.

Spider Mites
Hello Shane. Red Spider Mites are usually only visible with a magnifying glass. The larger ones, are known to predate RSM.

Re: Spider Mites
And, of course, mites have 8 legs. Insects have 6. If you have both, you may have one thing eating the other -- which can be a good thing.
You might try a close up photo through a hand lens or something similar.

Re: Spider Mites
This looks like the predator to me. About pinhead size or a little bigger?
