Shimpaku with two fronts
In the year 2008 when i went to Japan for the first time to study Bonsai, our Bonsai master Nobouchi Urushibata had bought several Juniperus Itoigawa to be worked.
This is one of those.
From the beginning was in good hands.
The first job it was made by Aoyagui San , Taisho-en student at that time.
He chooses this front, and here it is the result.
The back.
The tree came to Tenerife, for my student Jose Albelo.
But we choose to work this front.

Thanks for sharing the pics of an amazing tree... The transformation through various hands has done the tree good and it looks stunning....!!!!

Fantastic trunk and movement, and yes, both fronts are possible. Of course the styling is great too, with open spaces and well arranged foliage paths i.e. Only thing for me is the choice of pot, but it is probably not the final choice - not to my taste
Thanks a lot for showing.

Thank you all for your comments.
Morten you are right the pot it is not the final choice. We are looking for a new one to repot this year.

I have been there twice. The first time in 2008 during three months, and in 2010 two months.
I will go back on the end of this year.

and as usual I am green with zone envy, wish I could grow one in my zone [13].
Thanks for doing the follow up.

Beautiful work Jose. Very elegant and powerful at the same time, with a much better pot. I like the way the foliage pads flows too.
