Hi Eraydin (yamadorian)... Welcome to the IBC Stone Forum. I enjoyed your recently posted pots (including some with very nice complementary plantings) on the IBC Pots Forum.

Thanks for posting your stone & its size. Does the stone have a backside consistent with the front? If so I can imagine it in a display. If the stone's backside is not consistent with its front view-- especially if the back is broken or flat-faced-- it will not very engaging.

What do you see in the stone's contour? Without guidance by you or supported by other objects, I might imagine the view of clouds "over" as well as "below" a partially-exposed mountain peak. Mountains are considered the "roots of clouds" in Daoist allusion & cloud cover is often associated with vertically aligned Chinese garden rocks. Clouds/mists and dragons are imagined issuing from mountain caves in Japanese paintings.

Hi Yamadorian

You have found an intereseting stone, it looks a bit like a "hutstone", or more likely, could it be a cavestone.
I would like to see a photo from the top dawn scratch (place the stone on the flor, and take the photo).

Kind regards Yvonne.....a tiny wooden seat will be perfect for the stone.

Hi...
Both lovely stones. The cavestone is really nice.
The tunnelstone will also need a very nice little wooden base....Good luck with the carving.
Look forward to see your results.

Kind regards Yvonne
