some before and after pics.
this is my second try at bonsai. i left some roots exposed for look on this one, but ive been unable to find much reading material on the subject. should i wrap the roots in any way, or will they be ok as is? also i skinned some bark off by accident... should i put something on it?

I think its a good start! I would maybe put some thought in the balance of what you have going on here. Look at the size of the trunk in regard to the crown of the tree. Here's a super quick photoshop of what I'm thinking.
