living in new england and not having a decent window to sun my tropical bonsai, i was thinking of loooking into one of those grow tents i've seen addvertized. They have frame to hang the grow light and the material on the walls of the tent are of a reflective material enhancing the light rays inside. my question, has anyone had experience with this product and process? thank you for your advice in advance. love this site. and love my babies...umm bonsais....

Looking at the information on the Internet, I'm not sure that is the way to go. They seem to be more suited to hydroponics, herbaceous plants like vegetables, or doubtless, marijuana (why else are they opaque? Question ). I think they might be too stuffy for trees.
For the same money, you can wall off a growing area in your basement with sheet plastic or wallboard, and install humidifiers, fans, & fluorescent lights. You will need a shelf with four 40 W tubes side by side.

Dear JamesRB

I do not now this kind of tent....maybe it is worth trying....If you dont try, you will not know.
I would never try to keep bonsai in my house away from a window, as the natual light is so important...In winter I keep my ficus in a southwindow, with one lamp, this works. I would not try to keep them in a northwindow. The fan, I dont know, I dont think my trees need it.

Kind regards Yvonne
