A small project on a collected tree....i have just wired it to moyogi style (there are some points to correct on the future)....I wait for starting back budding on it,(i just wait for more thickness)

Hy Pascal.

I see the story of a tree who resurrected himself three times.
A lot of history told in such a miniature world.
What a challenge to accentuate this character of its own.
It will be a gem i am certain.

Fantastic trunk on this Privet Pascal, very old and full of character. I think your branches look too young though. They lack taper. I would cut back to closer buds, let it grow out and cut back again for a couple of seasons. If you carry on like this, you will end up with your ramification too far out and the branches will not echo the dramatic trunk.

It really is a beautiful trunk and will make a very nice bonsai. I would, however, have begun initially with something like this for the basic structure. Regards

... yet the branches need to thicken a little. There are branches with little enternodes near the trunk. For the moment I let it grow. I will cut close to the trunk, and start ramification at time.

I'll see if it's necessary to change or cut some branches. In fact, it's no easy with privet to have naturally branches in good place !
