Larch - small yamadori Empty Larch - small yamadori

Post  Pavel Slovák Thu Dec 02, 2010 3:25 pm

Hi all friends.

This small larch I picked up in March 2008. He was cut off to an interesting lower branch.
Too long branches were left. They were used in spring 2009 and 2010 to be grafted to another tree, to improve the tree.
The lower branch has intensified and formed the basis of an interesting small tree. Very Happy

I like Your work, very much. The only one thing that worry my mind is that tree looks like a little bit to heavy on the left side and in the result balance of the tree is disturbed.

Hi my nellie and pongsatorn.k, thank you for yours nice coment. Very Happy

Hi ItalianCopper, thank you for your nice replies. I agree with you, the left side is still severe, the entire tree is now more branches. Some will be removed in the spring when the tree begins to grow. Now is a good idea to keep a lot of branches with buds. Keep the spring of the possibility of creating more energy. Very Happy

I think it is great! The extra branches leave more possibilites to do differant things with the tree in the future. Great work again!!

Hello Pavel, lovely tree thanks for showing.
I have always been told not to do any root work on larch once any green foliage is visible, (it may be something particular to the UK), I notice that the buds on your larch have opened and green tufts are showing.
a) Is it common for you to re-pot with open buds on your Larch ?
b) How will you protect the tree after re-potting, any special treatment ?

Regards
John

Hi John
Thank you for your nice coment Very Happy
Yes, for me it is perfect when the bud is green, you can see the tip of needles. The tree is now in a cold greenhouse.

Very nice bonsai, very good work, but too geometric to my taste, too conventional.

I find the branch on the left much too long. Embarassed
