RIVER STONE

Post  mike page on Tue Nov 16, 2010 9:59 pm

A friend gave me this found stone about 10 years ago. Today I decided to attempt photographing it. There was some difficulty in color rendition. I tried different backgrounds to set it on. The one that seemed to work the best is this dark glass round.
The colors are fairly accurate.

Heres a different view of the river rock.
I carved a pocket in the slab to accept the bottom of the rock so I could display it standing, height including slab about 12 inches.

Another view. I didn't like the color of the wood slab, so I decided to spray it with black lacquer.

haiku inspired by stone.

out of the blackness
universe birth exploding
beginning of time

Hi Alan
I guess that BIG BANG would be a good name for the stone.
