This litlle yew I got from Tony Tickles garden wilst I was attending Burrs.

You have my sympathies, Peter. It was bad enough having to wait 16 months before I could work on the Yew I took to Burrs.

Good choice, though. I've looked at this tree a few times myself when I've been sniffing round Tony's garden. I look forward to seeing what you do with it.

Hi Peter,

Looks good. I didn't get a chance to see it properly before Tony wrapped it up in cling film.

I also have 2 long years before I can do anything to the little one I got.

What are your plans for Winter care? I've read that they should be kept reasonably dry over the Winter. That could be a problem in my climate where it's cold / wet / damp for most of the Winter. I can keep mine outdoors but undercover. Maybe Tony can give us some advice?

Cheers for now.

Keep it in a cold greenhouse, coldframe or at least under shelter. Tony told me on Saturday that I should let mine stay outside to experience at least one cold snap. They enjoy it, apparently.

Freaks.

These little yews are old trees they should be treated with respect... do NOTHING for two years... then once you are happy with the health/new growth of the tree THEN you can start considering working on the tree.. NOTE: health FIRST... bonsai second Rolling Eyes

BTW yes... let the tree have a VERY cold snap.. then protect from the worst of the winter

Hi Peter,

Be very careful with this little one. I've kept mine in greenhouse. The one from last BURRS was kept outside all last winter
and died. Just keep it moist and in shelter. Good luck with your "Little" yew:-)
