Chujin Black Pine Empty Chujin Black Pine

Had workshop yesterday with this. First shot is the pine before any work to it. The second, is the tree after pruning. Third is the pine after needle pulling.

Interesting triple trunk - or is it separate trees? Are you planning to wire it?

BTW, I never heard of a Chujin Black Pine. What is it?

Hi Rob. These are three trunks that are connected. I'll have time for wiring later in the year. This is a japanese black pine. as for my calling it "chujin", I was referring to its size. The correct word would be chuhin. Thank you for pointing this out for me.

If these are three connected trunks, would it be feasible to plant it so the connection shows and makes a raft-like planting?

Hi Jim

I can show the connecting surface roots with the next transplanting. It's in a deeper pot for the tree to recover from stress. They are under the lichen in the images.
