I like this Very Happy . The branches in the first pic are lacking taper and quite straight. Good solution Alex. I think I'd stick with pic 3, rather than just 1 branch

Thanks Will, yeh! the branches were very straight the only movement was
what I left, I intend tilting the whole tree 45 degrees to the right and
eventually planting it in a crescent pot, this season I,ll just concentrate
putting on growth.

cheers Alex

Hi Nik, perhaps! but the branches I removed were as straight as organ pipes
it,s a case of "seeing the tree from the wood" unfortunately the photo,s do
not tell the whole story there are two inch long branches that I intend to develop,
one is located just after the jin at the top the other 2 or three inches further down, a
superfeed programme this season should help, thanks for your feedback .

ThumbsUp Alex

Hi Alex,
I agree with Will. I like it with both branches in the third picture. Nice material and you picked the line I saw right away. Wish I could find some of those wild Hawthorns here in the USA!

this pot is only a training pot, I see the tree in a crescent /cascade type in the future
