Top notch exhibition in Saulieu (France)

One of the main features was a collection of trees of Danny Use, but there were some great specimens too, mainly from France, Italy and Belgium.

There will be plenty of photos here and there I'm sure, but just to make you aware of the quality of the displays, here are a dozen photos of the trees displayed :





















One of my favourites : a European larch by Gilles Rigal, pot by his wife Sylvie :



And an unsual kusamono, a heuchera I think :



Next year, I hope we'll see some of your fine British Crataegus, the species were very diverse, but these ones were missing...

Saulieu is in Bourgogne (Burgundy) : beautiful landscapes, great wine, nice people. The Scots Lassies are welcome too ;0)

thank you for taking the time to show these trees.

My favourite is the first. I both like it and fear for it. Like because it is so strong and can rejuvinate ---afraid of what our termites would do to it.

No they aren't, they're wooden scupltures. I was myself a bit skeptical about their use but I told myself I was maybe a bit too "classical" in my appreciation. After all, that's the artist's personal touch, and I should not have such a "formatted" view of what accents "should" be...

Alain, thank you for posting the pictures. Very nice trees!. One day I "might" have a tree of that calibre. I liked the tall root over rock; Elm?
