Hi Alex... The falcon (or hawk, perhaps) mounted on a the wood perch that appears natural is impressive for subtle aptness. Thanks for sharing these three-- each is nice! I've seen one important Japanese suiseki mounted similar to your falcon stone, but that is a rare option for Japanese stones as a daiza-style.

Hi Alex... There are numerous examples of accessories attached to stones in Japan, & I was not clear or particularly helpful. A miniature pole is sometimes seen next to a plain boat stone-- it could be a punting pole or the long handle for a single, aft oar. A necklace might hang on a full-figure stone or a sedge hat might be hung from a string around the neck of a tanuki "racoon dog" figure stone. Stones resembling a money bag are sometimes tied with a string resembling a bag closure. There must be many more & your own creativity will be accepted as long as the allusion seems respectful and adds to appreciation. A miniature walking stick or a miniature gourd might clarify the aptness of a particular figure stone.

It depends on your audience as to which cues work best. Keeping the addition simple promotes the suiseki aesthetic and lets the stone dominate over the addition.

Hi Alex,

I am impressed with these stones and your choice of accessories is perfect. The first one looks like "apo baket" or old woman from the Ilocos region. without the accessories, it would be difficult to figure it out. The cane and the waist band depicts a typical ilocano old woman.
The second one is no doubt a black bird, probably a hawk.
