HI everybody,
two day's ago I decided to bring this precious (gift), but o so difficult to style Yamadori from Switzerland, closer to it's final form. It used to have a nice frond side after my first styling, some 7 years ago. But then most of the trunk died back, leaving only a thin live line that curls around the tree like a snake! Today this tree still has some amazing movement, but it is from no angle perfect! So I had to change my original design completely! That would never be easy, but to make matters worse, the thin life line looks at it's best on the wurst posible place of the tree. That's why the two repottings that I have don so fare, were mostly aimed at raising the tree backwards and upward. This is necessary to get the best view of the base of the tree and the twisting live line. But even then, it has much contradicting bends and angles that bothers me in a pleasant way. So I am still looking for the best way to blend these visually awkward curves in to the best posible design! These curves stick from the two best front sides straight in to your face, so that's no good! And it is hard to see in these pictures, but the tree is growing away from you or away from you on both posible best fronds! But I am slowly starting to see the light and the first fast drawing is made, so the seed of the final image is planted! Smile We will see after the next repoting session if it is doable or not?!
Below: During the bending the top deadwood started to crack open, away from the live fain. I split ted it completely with special cutters, to be able to bend the live part of the tree closer to the trunk. This was all anticipated and there is no risk off breaking the live part of the tree. And I actually like that remaining piece of deadwood sticking out in to the sky. The bended top was hold into place by copper wires that were secured to a iron bare. The top moved about 5 cm/2 inch inward with out any wire to protect it. So I am happy with that resuld and for now I will leave the tree as it is to see how it reacts to this new possition! Better safe than sorry with this kind of material! And that will give me some more time to look at it from all angels again, during many a day to come! But I do think I have found it?!

I think I might finally have heard what this music note like shaped trees was whispering to me! Very Happy I hope you enjoyed the pictures?!
