Some amazing material John. What sort of environment do they grow to cause such movement and deadwood?

Some potential there, John, and some lovely deadwood.

btw the title of your post suggests you are asking people to do virtuals. If so, it is helpful to take the pics against a plain background.

John,

I can draw you a few virtuals, but I need to see some examples of the mature tree.

hi , will they grow in lowland areas near water, so its very hot and humid,i think thats why they get so much deadwood because the tree rots but because its so vigorous it just grows around it , also they tend to grow in clumps ,multi trunked then they fuse together giving the appearance of one tree .actually 3 of these trees were bought as 1 tree then i cut the base to give me 3 trees. the foliage goes very small with leaf cutting ,down to about 1cm,they look like yews when they get small but softer and paler in colour. i havenot seen one completely finished yet cos they are so new for bonsai nobody,s got one thats refined but i,ll keep you posted with their development. jun yes i,v got about a 1 acre garden and 2 more acres nearby . i,ll try to post some better pictures for the virtuals with a plain background. regards john

Hello John,

I am happy to draw you some projected/possible shapes, but if I can't see a mature tree in the wild , all I would be giving you is the standard 1,2,3 branch placement for VOLUME and probably the most unnatural shape [ more like a shimpaku juniper wannabe/envy ] possble.

You have made so much effort already, how about just a little more.

Question - are also saying the dead wood will eventually rot away ????

We have a similar pinnate leaf tree/shrub that chases water, and it might make a good bonsai, but the wood rots very easily.

Happy to help.
Khaimraj
