Thanks for sharing Neil. I have yet to get myself up there to visit Bill at the arboretum. It's a good 5+ hours from me. Great trees. Are all those for sale or part of the private collection?? Oh yes and can you post more pics please! Very Happy

Yes, Bill is a great guy. That stinks its a 5 hour drive. It really is a nice place. Almost all trees are for sale. If you see yellow tape they are not for sale. Here are some more.

Neil, What is the last tree in the rectangular pot (2nd batch of pics). Is it an elm?

Todd, i dont think it was an elm they were in another part, it may be a beech tree. But i am not to sure, i dont have any other pictures of it. sorry.

Iris, i only made it today for Ryan Neil's lecture of his juniper that looked as it had been hit by lighting. How about you did you make it for anything? Did you see the ponderosa pine i got for free? They had some real good deals there. It was hard not to spend to much money with the wedding in less than 3 weeks. affraid

Thanks,

It's a Japanese Loose-Flowered Hornbeam (Carpinus laxiflora).

Most of the pictures posted are of Bill's personal trees (some of trees taht are being re-worked) a few of them were of sale trees.

It was my first time their but it was my understanding that almost all trees were for sale (for the right price). Some were marked off that they were sold or were being re-worked. That is one of the things i dont care for about there and when i was at hollow creek is that the prices are not put on the trees or if they were for sale or not. Even if they could put the trees in certian price ranges, 50-100 100-200 and so on. Either way the place is beautiful and the people were VERY nice. The woman that worked inside, the cashier (i appoligize for her name) wanted us to buy one of the wisteria that was on their back porch. She said it takes 5 peolpe to move it!!!!!
